What are the health benefits of dried fruit?
Dried fruit is fruit (no surprises there!) that has had nearly all the water content removed. Common varieties include raisins, sultanas, apricots, cranberries, dates, figs and prunes. Santos Organics also sells the most delicious organic dried Bananas, Medjool Dates and Shredded Coconut.
Dry fruit is highly nutritious and is rich in fibre, vitamins and minerals. They’re also loaded with polyphenol antioxidants which improve blood flow and digestive health and reduce the risk of many diseases.
Raisins, for example, are packed with potassium and have been shown to lower blood pressure and improve blood sugar control, among other benefits.
Our biodynamic dried raisins (and sultanas) are not artificially preserved with sulphur dioxide, as most conventional brands are.
Is dried fruit healthy?
