Cafe Manager (Mullumbimby)

We are looking for a passionate and motivated cafe manager to lead our cafe team at our Mullumbimby location. The role is full time five days per week.

Our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about our mission to be the guiding light of conscious change for good food, harmonious living and environmental action. You thrive on providing amazing customer service, sharing your organic food knowledge, leading a team and achieving the cafe targets.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building friendly and professional relationships with your customers’
  • Fostering positive teamwork within your cafe
  • Ensuring that all products made and/or sold are of the highest quality and freshness
  • Upselling products to achieve your targets
  • Collaborating with the kitchen team and store manager to meet your targets
  • Ensuring that all systems and procedures for product control are implemented and monitored
  • Responsible for ordering products and supplies for the cafe
  • Arranging and maintaining food merchandise on display, ensuring labelling is clear and correct
  • Following at all times WH&S and Food Safety standards and legislation
  • Scheduling your team and approving timesheets through Deputy including finding replacements when a team member is unable to replace their own shift
  • Organising and maintaining the cleanliness of the cafe
  • Training new team members when required
  • Work with your store manager to achieve cafe budgets and manage costs
  • Highlight opportunities for improvement to your store manager

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills, knowledge and attributes:

  • Must have strong barista experience
  • Experience in a cafe environment and leading a leading a cafe team
  • Experience in: Ideal POS (or other POS systems)
  • Confident in completing rosters to achieve labour targets
  • Great with customer service, strong in sales, passionate about training your team and performance management
  • Experience in stock/food ordering and receiving, controlling stock levels and food wastage
  • Knowledge of costing is a bonus

*Please note in this role you will be on your feet for extended periods of time and must be able to lift weight above 10kgs

Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship is mandatory.

Reporting: You will be reporting to the Store Manager
Remuneration: Permanent full time position / general retail award - $23.67 per hour (this can vary depending on age)
