Your questions answered about buying plant-based milks, tea and coffee online
What’s the difference between non-dairy organic milks and regular milk?
In a nutshell (pardon the pun!) non-dairy milk alternatives are made from plant-based sources like nuts, soy, coconut, rice and oats. As they’re dairy-free, they are suitable for vegetarians and vegans who have excluded animal-based products from their diets. They’re also suitable for those who may be allergic to cow’s milk, lactose-intolerant or simply don’t like the taste. Organic non-dairy milk... Read More

Organic non-dairy milk substitutes also have the advantage of being free from antibiotics and pesticides and are cruelty-free and environmentally-friendly.
Which plant-based milk should I choose?
It all comes down to personal taste and your reason for choosing non-dairy milk in the first place. We recommend experimenting with a few until you find one that floats your boat. Soy milk has a mild and creamy flavour and, nutritionally, is a close non-dairy substitute to cow’s milk. Almond milk has a slightly sweet and nutty flavour and can be used in tea and coffee. It’s generally considered one of the best plant-based milks for cooking.
How do you store bulk tea, coffee and milks?
As with all organic products, if you’re buying milk or tea and coffee online, you need to store them correctly. Tea and coffee should both be stored in a sealed container. Tea goes into the pantry or cupboard, while coffee heads for the fridge. You should refrigerate milk after opening.
Consult the packets for use-by dates and how much tea and coffee to use per serving.
What else should I know about buying coffee and tea online?
There are countless teas out there, so, as with plant-based milks, experiment until you find one that is your cup of tea (sorry!) on the taste and purpose front.
For example, organic black ceylon tea makes a great breakfast cuppa while calming organic tea supports the nervous system.
When it comes to coffee, our beans and espresso and plunger styles are certified organic and fair-trade and sourced from independent farms in Colombia, Ethiopia, Panama and Peru. They also taste pretty damn fine.
