GF, DF, Nightshade Free, Vegan.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Whole linseed (flax)
- ½ cup Ground linseed (flax - make from whole linseeds)
- 1 cup Chia seeds
- ½ cup Pepita seeds
- ½ cup Sesame seeds white & black Sesame seeds
- ½ cup Sunflower kernels
- ¼ cup Psyllium Husk
- 1 ½ Tbsp Turmeric powder
- 2 Tbsp Nutritional yeast
- 1 Tbsp Rosemary and thyme (finely chopped)
- 1 ½ tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Ground black pepper
- 1.5 Tbsp Apple cider vinegar
Method:
- Turn on dehydrator to 46°C (115°F) or preheat oven to 115°C (239°F)
- In a medium sized bowl, mix all dry ingredients together using a whisk or your hands to achieve a consistent mix
- If you don’t already have ground flax seeds, as listed, process whole seeds in a nutribullet to make them into grounds (this will help to bind the mix). If you cannot grind them you can replace the ground flax seeds for extra chia seeds
- Next add in water and vinegar, mix well until fully combined. Leave mixture to soak and absorb the liquid, 30 minutes
- Prepare two sheets of baking paper to fit the rack or tray you will be using in your dehydrator or oven. Working in batches, place the required amount of mixture for your tray, in the middle of the sheets of baking paper. Using a rolling pin, roll out this mix until it is 3mm thick. Peel off the top layer of baking paper and leave it on the bottom sheet. Slide it onto your tray and put it into the dehydrator or oven. Repeat with the remaining mix
- Leave them to dehydrate for 12-24 hours or until you can break the cracker with a clean snap without any bending. If baking in the oven, turn the oven off after 2 hours and without opening the oven door leave the crackers in the heat for an additional hour
- Allow the crackers to cool to room temperature before storing the left overs in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 months
