Organic Rye Grain
Organic Rye Grain is Australian grown and certified organic. Rye is moderately dark in colour with a strong, robust flavour.
Organic Rye Grain is rich in B-vitamins, iron, calcium, phosphorus, potassium and the highest content of lysine (an essential amino acid) out of all grains. It has a low gluten content and is easily digestible. As it is easier to digest than wheat, some people with wheat and gluten sensitivities may tolerate it in their diet.
Rye Grain is a versatile grain that can be ground into flour, sprouted or cooked in savoury or sweet recipes. Rye flour is a great flour for baking food like sourdough bread, buns, cakes and pastry. Sprouted Rye grain can be added to salads, wraps, to make crackers and certain breads. Once cooked it can also be added to salads, stews, pudding and soups. If you pre-soak Rye Grain, it will reduce the amount of time it needs to be cooked.
