Besides reducing your plastic consumption, learning to make your own deodorant paste also means you can be sure to not have any nasty chemicals in your home-made paste.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup Organic Arrowroot Powder
1/4 cup Organic Shea Butter (room temp or melted)
1 tsp Organic Coconut Oil (room temp or melted)
1 tsp Australian Bentonite Clay
10 drops Essential Oil (Lemon Myrtle, Tea tree, Eucalyptus, Rose or Lavender – avoid citrus if going in sun)
1/4 cup Bicarbonate of Soda (optional, add extra arrowroot powder if omitting)
Method:
Mix all ingredients together with the back of a spoon until it resembles a creamy paste (like cake icing). Pour into re-used clean container or jar with a wide mouth.
Use:
Apply a small amount to underarms with fingers after showering/ in the morning. Omit bicarb soda if an irritation occurs and replace with arrowroot powder instead.
