SO Organic Lavender Oil 50ml

$39.95

Steam-distilled organic Bulgarian lavender, in the 50ml bottle.

Santos Organics Organic Bulgarian Lavender Essential Oil is pure, undiluted lavender oil, steam-distilled from organically grown Lavandula angustifolia flowers in the Bulgarian Rose Valley. Bulgaria is the world's largest producer of high-grade lavender oil, with a temperate climate, mineral-rich soils, and a long-standing cultivation tradition that produces some of the most aromatically complex lavender oil available globally.

The aroma is soft, floral, and herbaceous, with the rounded sweetness that distinguishes Bulgarian lavender from harsher, more medicinal-smelling lavender oils grown elsewhere. The colour is pale yellow to almost clear, and the oil is thin in viscosity, easy to dispense, and blends well with other essential oils.

The 50ml bottle is the everyday size, the right amount for regular use across a diffuser, candle making, soap making, or home perfumery.

How to use

For external use only. Lavender essential oil is highly concentrated and should always be diluted before applying to skin. A few starting points:

  • Aromatic diffuser: add 3 to 6 drops to your diffuser with water as directed
  • Natural perfumery: blend with carrier oils (jojoba, sweet almond, fractionated coconut) at a 1 to 3% dilution for personal fragrance
  • Soap and candle making: add to your soap or candle base at the manufacturer's recommended ratio (typically 1 to 3% for cold-process soap, slightly higher for candles)
  • Linen and pillow spray: mix 10 to 20 drops with 100ml of distilled water and a teaspoon of vodka (as a dispersant) in a spray bottle
  • Bath: mix 3 to 5 drops into a tablespoon of carrier oil first, then add to a warm bath. Never add essential oil directly to bathwater
  • Blends well with: bergamot, rose, geranium, ylang ylang, cedarwood, rosemary, peppermint, frankincense

Safety

For external use only. Do not ingest. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes. Always patch test on a small area of skin before broader use. Do not use undiluted on skin. Not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy. Discontinue use if irritation occurs and consult a qualified healthcare practitioner. Highly flammable. Store away from heat and open flame.

Storage

Store in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. Keep the cap tightly closed between uses. Essential oils have a long shelf life when stored properly. Lavender oil typically retains its quality for 2 to 3 years from opening.
