Unlike many legumes Red Split Lentils need no pre-soaking as they are split into two halves, yet we still recommend rinsing the lentils prior to cooking to assure no debris are present. Red Split Lentils are by far the quickest and easiest to cook of the lentil family and become quite mushy making them ideal for purees, dhal, soups, stews and quick meals.
