SO Organic Cashew Nuts 500g
Certified organic cashew nuts in the everyday 500g bag. Creamy, milky, and the most versatile nut in the pantry - eat raw, roast at home, activate, or blend into plant-based creams, milks, cheeses, and dips.
Cashews grow on a tropical evergreen tree (Anacardium occidentale) native to Brazil, now cultivated across the tropics. The cashew is botanically a seed - it grows attached to the outside of the cashew apple fruit - and is one of the most naturally creamy nuts available, with a mild, slightly sweet, buttery flavour that makes it as useful in the kitchen as any dairy-based ingredient.
Santos Organics Cashew Nuts are ACO certified organic, raw, and whole - not roasted, not salted, not processed. Raw cashews are the most versatile format: eat them as-is, dry-roast at home for a deeper flavour, activate by soaking, or blend directly into plant-based recipes.
Source of magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, zinc, vitamin B6, and vitamin K.
The 500g bag is the everyday size for regular cashew eaters and home cooks. For better value per gram, the 1kg bag is also available.

How to use them
Raw: eat straight from the bag as a snack, or add to trail mix, muesli, and granola.
Toasted: dry-toast in a pan over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring constantly, until golden and fragrant. Excellent over salads, stir-fries, and Asian-inspired dishes.
Activated: soak raw cashews in cold water for 4 to 8 hours, then drain and rinse well. Soaking softens the cashew and makes it easier to blend into smooth creams, and may improve digestibility.
Blended (raw or soaked):
- Cashew cream: blend soaked cashews with water for a dairy-free cream or cream cheese base
- Cashew milk: blend 1 cup soaked cashews with 3 cups water and strain
- Raw cashew cheese: blend soaked cashews with nutritional yeast, lemon, garlic, and salt
- Dips and spreads: the base of many plant-based dips, hummus variations, and nut butter
- Raw cakes and cheesecakes: the standard base for plant-based “cheesecake” fillings
In cooking:
- Curries: whole cashews added to Indian butter chicken, korma, and Thai curries
- Stir-fries: tossed through Asian-style stir-fries with tamari, ginger, and sesame oil
- Granola and muesli: mixed through before or after baking
- Baking: chopped and folded into cookies, slices, and bliss balls
