Ceres Organics Pulled Jackfruit 400g

$5.45

Pre-shredded organic jackfruit, ready to heat and season. The plant-based shredded meat alternative that requires almost no preparation.

Ceres Organics Pulled Jackfruit is young jackfruit - harvested before it ripens and sweetens - packed in water with a touch of sea salt and organic vinegar. Ceres has done the labour-intensive shredding for you, leaving strands of jackfruit that have the fibrous, pull-apart texture that makes young jackfruit the most convincing whole-food meat alternative available. No soy, no processed protein isolates, no additives - just jackfruit, water, sea salt, and vinegar.

Young jackfruit has a neutral flavour that takes on whatever seasoning or sauce you cook it with. Season it as pulled pork with smoked paprika, cumin, and chipotle. Cook it in a tikka masala or rogan josh sauce. Pile it into tacos with lime, coriander, and pickled red onion. Use it anywhere you'd use shredded chicken or pulled meat - it holds sauce well, heats quickly, and looks the part.

Two serves per 400g tin at 115g per serve.

How to use it

Drain and rinse the jackfruit, then heat in a pan over medium heat with your choice of seasoning and sauce. It picks up flavour quickly.

A few starting points:

  • Pulled jackfruit tacos: heat with smoked paprika, cumin, garlic, and chipotle sauce. Serve in corn tortillas with pickled red onion, coriander, and lime
  • BBQ jackfruit: coat with your favourite barbecue sauce and heat until caramelised. Serve in a bun with coleslaw
  • Jackfruit curry: add to a pre-made tikka masala, butter chicken, or rogan josh sauce and simmer for 10 minutes to absorb the flavour
  • Loaded nachos: season with taco spices and serve over corn chips with guacamole, sour cream, and salsa
  • Jackfruit rice bowls: season with tamari, ginger, and sesame oil, serve over rice with steamed greens and a fried egg

Serving suggestion

For best results, cook in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat until the edges start to caramelise slightly before adding your sauce. This adds depth of flavour and improves the texture.
