Organic Green Split Peas are green peas with the husk removed and split in half, they have a mild flavour and soft texture when cooked. Often used in soups and stews but can also be used to make dips or spreads.
Split peas are nutrient – dense foods, which means that they contain a large quantity of nutrients but are low in calories. Split peas are good sources of vitamins A and B, potassium and magnesium. Vitamin A supports immune health and is necessary for healthy eyesight. B vitamins help to produce red blood cells and also help make energy from food you eat. You need potassium to build muscle and help break down carbohydrates into energy. Magnesium is also necessary to keep your teeth and bones healthy and strong.
