People & Culture Manager (Mullumbimby Head Office)

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be a leader who can easily communicate effectively with all key stakeholders of the business including the Board of Directors, have demonstrated expertise in change management with a focus on improvement of systems and procedures to support our team.

As a strategic, forward thinking, experienced People & Culture Manager you will place importance on maintaining the positive, engaged and vibrant culture of our organisation whilst recognising the need for training and development to be implemented to achieve organisational goals. You will be an incredible communicator that is naturally positive and has the ability to be pragmatic according to the circumstance – empathic while maintaining objectivity, and have strong business acumen with the ability to frame communication effectively to achieve desired results.

Our People and Culture department is still in the development phase, it will be imperative to have a strong background and knowledge to create and cultivate this very needed role.

We are looking for a part-time candidate that can work 32 hours per week.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Create a value-lead culture
  • Ensure Fair Work Act compliance
  • Empower our team to lead and achieve the goals of the organisation through motivational training and development
  • Create and deliver training programs tailored to the needs of the business
  • Increase commitment through team engagement
  • Oversee and maintain our WH&S program
  • Drive the performance appraisal process
  • Drive performance management, including performance improvement plans process
  • Strategic recruitment & inductions
  • Support the physical and mental health & well-being of the team
  • Review of remunerations/bonus structures to ensure we reward thoughtfully
  • Provide recommendations on salary reviews as needed to stay competitive and attract talented team members
  • Lead conflict resolution and manage employee relations
  • Ensure the Policies and Procedures Manual is kept up to date and the team is aware of any changes
  • Keep our job descriptions up to date, add and change as required
  • Ensure employee files and contracts are complete and compliant

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills, knowledge and attributes:

  • Bachelor degree or above in HR (or equivalent)
  • Experience in creation and delivery of training programs
  • Experience with recruitment and remuneration recommendations
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • A solid understanding of HR issues including the Fair Work Act and how to work with them effectively
  • Ability to drive cultural change by delivering key HR projects to positively influence the organisation and get buy-in from the team
  • Confidence in coaching and mentoring all levels within the business
  • Builds relationships easily and naturally
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required, helpful if you are familiar with Trello and Google Drive/Docs
  • Important to have a connection to our ethos (health, sustainability, not-for-profit, community, etc.)

Reporting: General Manager

Remuneration: Up to $63,000 (0.8 FTE) per annum depending on experience.
